The blade is in generally very good condition that is still bright with the majority of the original crossgraining intact. The tip is still needle sharp.
Crisp seated king SMF logo is nicely etched.
There are perhaps 4 marks where the scabbard retaining springs have rested on the blade with a couple of other smaller marks.
The blade has been professionally engraved with the following script - Betty S.lb Mac. S.lb is the shortened term for Sienem Lieben or his/her beloved. So it translates as \"Betty to her beloved Mac\".
The names Betty and Mac do not appear to be Germanic sounding but I\'m reliably informed that they have been used as a shortened term for Elisabeth and possibly the old German name of Macco. The fighter ace and Ritterkreuzträger Gordon Gollob was actually MacGollob and was called Mac by his comrades.
Very interesting and unusual engraving that I first thought may have been an American bringback if it wasn\'t for the German term S.lb.
The original portepee looks to have been tied to the dagger for ever and shows considerable heavy wear especially to the swing areas.
The basic style hangers are in excellent condition with patina to the buckles. Both spring clips are in perfect working order. The bullion facing and green velvet backing is in excellent condition.

The dagger is a true Eickhorn from the pommel to the tip of the scabbard. If you like daggers that actually show some true service wear rather than sterile pieces that spent their life in a drawer, then this dagger is for you. The desirable solid trolon grip has aged to a pleasing orange colour that collectors covet. No cracks are evident.
The later design Eickhorn crossguard shows some wear to the eagles chest and to the scrolls but still has excellent detail. This style eagle is my personal favourite of the Eickhorn crossguards.
The crossguard reverse shows the typical wear in an oval shape showing where it has rubbed against a uniform.
The blade is straight and retains its original needle sharp tip. It is stamped with the 1941 "over the shoulder" squirrel logo of Eickhorn. The blade is still bright but shows some minor clouding in places.
The original and typical Eickhorn brown leather washer is in place.
The silver bullion portepee is heavily worn and shows just the bare cord in places but it is tied in the regulation manner and looks to have been in place forever.
The silver finished scabbard is in excellent condition with no damage or dents although some areas of pebbling on the reverse show minor wear, again where it has rubbed against a uniform.
The scabbard has the usually seen thick Eickhorn style throat.
The hangers are the standard basic type and are in excellent condition. Minor moth to the velvet on the reverse but the lightweight aluminium fittings retain the majority of their bright silver finish.
Overall this is a very nice looking dagger that shows actual service wear but would still display extremely well Funeral Sash
Funeral Sash , scarce type in white , bullion fringe and lettering has most unusual silver edging.

Italian Regia Aeronautica officer grouping Pre War dated Regia Aeronautica officer ID book named to Tenente (Lieutenant) later Capitano (Captain) Giovanni Alfieri. The outer cover of the ID book is made from airforce blue Italian leather and is in excellent condition. The inside cover has a full page size photo of Alfieri in Airforce uniform with his signature at the bottom.
The following pages show name, rank, issuing date, the signature of the authorising General and various promotions. The pages are water marked with the Fasces and the Fascist pilot wings.
The ID book is housed in it\'s original protective slip case made from stiff cardboard and covered in a water resistant ducked material.
The ID book came with a silver plated brass plaque which I\'m assuming is a KIA commemorative piece, maybe it was fixed to a wall of honour in the officers mess?
The plaque has the name Licio and the dates 6 Giugno 1918 - 18 Giugno 1940 crisply engraved and then blackened to make them stand out (Giugno =June). Affixed separately to the plaque is a beautiful full size rendition of the Fascist pilot wing which I believe was used from 1935 to 1943. Superb crisp detail and quality.
This grouping needs further research as the Regia Aeronautica was active in the Battle of France in June 1940 so maybe it would be possible to find out who Licio was and indeed if he was KIA.
Overall a fantastic small Italian Airforce grouping and an excellent research project. Italian Regia Aeronautica officer grouping extra pics J1 early production Luftwaffe Pilot Badge by C.E.Juncker. An absolutely stunning prewar Luftwaffe Pilot Badge by the premier manufacturer C.E.Juncker of Berlin. So called J1 by collectors.
The J1 pilots badge is characterized by a thinner and finer wreath, compared to later examples. It also utilizes a unique early eagle pattern only used on the J1 badge.
This 1936-39 produced badge is in excellent used condition. Manufactured from silver finished tombak and nickel silver. Beautiful crisp detail to the oak and laurel leaf nickel silver wreath. Some light age toning but still silver bright in the protected areas.
The chemically darkened tombak eagle is a joy to behold, with light wear to the finish on the highlights from being worn the bird still retains its original crisp detail. The eagles wings have been exquisitely hand finished and have superb feathering.
The badge is beautifully factory vaulted for better fit to the tunic and exhibits bags of hand finishing.
Textbook flattened top Juncker rivets are tight with no wiggle to the eagle.
The textbook hinge, pin and clasp are in perfect working order.
Marker C.E.Juncker S.W

Fully functioning pin to reverse. SS Sleeve eagle , RZM period SS Sleeve eagle , RZM period , some staining but a scarce example SS Wehrpass Kavallerie Regiment, SS Sturmmann Fillip Kinkel. An amazing SS Wehrpass named to an SS Sturmmann Fillip Kinkel.
Filipp Kinkel was a “Volksdeutsch” German, born in part of Hungary. He volunteered for service in the SS and was inducted into 11 Kompanie / Rekruten Depot der Waffen-SS in Debica and took the oath of allegiance on 9 August 1942.
On 16 June 1942 he joined 3 Schwadron of the newly formed SS-Reiter Regiment 3, which was being formed in Debica ,with the rank of SS-Reiter. At the time this new Regiment would join SS-Reiter Regiments 1 and 2 from the former SS-Kavallerie Brigade to form the new SS-Kavallerie Division and was itself redesignated from a Reiter-Regiment to a Kavallerie Regiment.
At this time the commander of the new Division was SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Willi Bittrich who was replaced on 15 February 1943 by SS-Standartenführer Fritz Freitag and on 19 April 1943 by the notorious SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Hermann Fegelein who had commanded the original SS-Kavallerie Brigade in committing countless atrocities.
As part of the renumbering of all Waffen-SS divisions, the unit was finally given the designation 8th SS Cavalry Division on 22 October 1942 (later given the honour title “Florian Geyer”) It fought in the winter of 1942/43 in the frontal arc near Rschew (Rshew) as well as, again under the designation Kampfgruppe \"Zehender\" (\"Z\"), against Soviet troops which had broken through near Orel. In 1943, now subordinated to Heeresgruppe Süd (Army Group South), the division was involved in the defensive battles west of Kharkov, on the Dnieper and in the Kremenchug-Kirovograd area.
After approximately 9 months he is shown in the SS-Kavallerie Ausbildung und Ersatz Abteilung, Genesenden Schwadron ( recuperation squadron) suggesting had either been exhausted or developed illness during his combat service but appears not to have been actually wounded.
He subsequently spend some time on staff postings with the SS-Führungshauptamt before joining the Transport Escort Kompanie on on 15 November 1944. After two weeks he was posted to the SS-Transport-Sicherungs-Kompanie 500, his final posting. This was the security escort unit of the Transport Command of SS Main Office. He appears to have survived the war.
The pass is in very good used condition with the pages all tight and none missing.

You would find it hard to better this one Swastika belt buckle. This is a very interesting buckle. It is either an early Nazi sympathiser buckle or it's a 1930s US Army 45th Infantry Division belt buckle. The 45th used the swastika as their divisional symbol until old Adolf came along, where it quickly got changed to a Thunderbird. One collectors website mentioned that an identical buckle had been seen with Ges.Gesch marking which would indicate German manufacture and hence it would be a Nazi sympathiser buckle.
If it is a 45th Division buckle then it would be quite a rare piece.
Manufactured from blackened iron and completely unmarked.
Friction fit fastening device to rear. Swastika brooch in 800 silver. Excellent condition 800 silver swastika \"sympathiser\" brooch. 4cm long.

The silver plated hilt retains a lot of its original finish with some rubbing from the retaining strap.
The blade has not been sharpened and retains its original shape. It is bright but has some minor aging and marks. The Blut und Ehre (Blood and Honour) motto is very deeply etched and retains a lot of the original dark finish. Getting hard to find HJ knives with such crisp mottos now, most seen are heavily worn.
The scabbard is in excellent condition with the majority of the original paint finish intact, just the usual minor marks from use and age. The leather strap is complete and supple but has the usual leather aging. All rivets are intact.
The popper still snaps into place and is marked STOCKO. Paint finish on the popper is virtually complete.
