MILITARY DRUM - AMERICAN CIVIL WAR PAINTED DESIGN An excellent example of a British military drum which has been hand painted with an American Civil War design. Brass drum with white rope tensioners and with top and bottom skins intact. Maker\'s name on one side. Front part of the drum hand painted with a large Union American Eagle design with banners painted 18th Regiment US Infantry and central shild painted Co E. The colours being red white and blue and are unfaded. No surface wear. This drum was painted in around 2003 by an expert signwriter and artist. Drum probably dates form the 1950\'s period and measures 14 inches in height with a diametre of 14 inches. Weight approximately 3.8 kgs. PAINTED METAL PLAQUE - AMERICAN CIVIL WAR SOLDIER An excellent, hand painted alloy relief figure of an American Civil War Union infantryman. 23 inches tall. Gloss painted as per the photos. Some minimal wear to the arm and minor wear elsewhere. Rear is unpainted and has US maker name and dated 1968. Painted in approx 2003. 23 inches tall, 10 inches wide at the base. Grade 9

REPRINTED WW2 PRESS PHOTOGRAPHS In the mid 1980's I purchased a group of items relating to GeneralEisenhower's SHAEF Headquarters in the UK - yes, such things did turn up back then!!. There were various items of (non classified) paperwork along with a group of original press photographs, many of which have appeared in books etc ever since. Along with the well known photos were a group which were obviously taken at the time but not released in public. I always called them the "next one on the film roll" or they just were not the correct quality for release. ALL of these originals were sold years ago, however I had some reprinted at the time and have had them stored for over 25 years ! Although I cannot say where or when the originals of these were taken , they do form an excellent and unusual reference of uniforms etc of the period. These are NOT ORIGINAL but reprints of official WW2 photographs

SPAIN. MUZZLE ADAPTOR FOR M41 BOLO BAYONET Steel adaptor enables the M41 Bolo bayonet to be fitted to the M43 mauser rifle as used by Spain during WW2. Fits into mortice slot on bayonet pommel. Blued finish with some wear but not rusted or pitted. In storage grease which can be easily removed with methylated spirit etc. Evidently there should be a small steel pin through the tiny hole in the side of the adaptor for permanent fitting to the rifle, but this is not present. The adaptor will still fit to the bayonet & the rifle. Photos show 2 adaptors and, for illustration purposes only, an adaptor actually fitted to a bayonet. HOWEVER this lot contains ONE ADAPTOR ONLY and does NOT include the bayonet !

Many of the lower page sections are wrinkled and stained but the text and photos are still clear. YES this devalues the book so it's price is reflected with this in mind.
