This is a 1981 dated, hardback publicatain by Time Life books. The book explores the issues of the German occupation of France. It makes for very interesting reading. It is well illustrated with photos and in very good condition.

08 Pattern Haversack This is an 08 pattern period haversack. It has lost it's top buckles and web tabs, at some stage of it's service History. It has 2 leather tabs added, as a field conversion. The vet's initials are written, on the inside of the pack, as shown. There is an additional service repair, to one side and the other side has a small hole. The buckles on this pack have never been cleaned, as clearly shown. All of the repairs have been added with khaki stitching. It certainly is one haversack, that has well been used !
105 Squadron RAF Blazer Badge 105 Squadron flew Fairey Battles, with the BEF, in France in 1940 and were one of the first squadrons, to be equipped, with Mosquitos. This badge is clearly well worn and measures 8 by 11 cm. It is completely untouched, as shown.
10th Infantry Regiment Photo Grouping This is a wartime grouping of 60 photos, from a Wehrmacht soldier in the 10th Infantry Regiment / Division. The photos vary enormously in quality. Many have suffered some water damage in the past, which is reflected, in the price of this grouping. Others are in very good condition. The majority are military related. Only 5 are non military. All of the photos are good sizes, with the majority measuring 9 by 6 cm. The photos show the soldier's training and his posting to the Eastern Front. The front line duty photos, show the soldier's unit, housed in a log cabin. One photo in the Winter of 1942, records the temperature at minus 35 degrees. The set are an honest grouping and show the soldier's service up to the 1942 period.

1908 Pattern Webbing REPRO Manual This is a 1986 dated publication. It is a copy of the 1913 Army Manual guide to 08 pattern webbing. This example is in very good condition. It is a most invaluable reference guide !
1914 Imperial German Army Magazine This is a 1914, German Army magazine publication. It gives an overview, of the opening of the war. It is illustrated with one photo, maps and illustrations. There is some minor, rust bleeding, to the staples, but it is otherwise in good condition. It measures 21 by 28 cm.
1915 Tommy Postcard Pair This pair of postcards surfaced together, from the same family in Leicester. Both were sent together in 1915. One has the Army Censor's stamp, as shown. They are a good, early war pair.

These faults aside, the rest of the manual is in very good condition. It presents a goldmine of information and a captivating manual to view.

1931 Physical Training Army Manual This is a large format size, Army manual, measuring 13.5 by 22 cm. It is hardback and massively illustrated with photo sequences of PT exercises. The photos sequences run throughout this manual, rather than the occasional photo page, like most other Army manuals. The Army publishers really 'went to town', on this publication ! It is in mint condition, as shown and a highly impressive publication.

1944 GI ID Tag Paper Packet This is a 1944 dated, EMPTY, paper packet, for a US Army ID tag. It is small, measuring 7 by 9 cm, with some rust bleeding to the staples.
1954 Army Ceremonial Parade Boots These are a 1954 dated, size 10, pair of Army boots. They are an impressive pair, with their degree of bulling. Judging from how extensive this is, on this pair, it would appear that they were used were just parade duties. In addition, they are adapted, at the top, with cuts, to both boot, to allow for wear. They come with a modern pair of boot laces and are in very good condition, as shown. Please note that postage is Medium Parcels size, as the boots weigh in, at over 2 KG.

21st Battalion Sussex Home Guard Grouping This is a November 1944 dated grouping, from a Private J. S. Mackenzie, who served with 17 Platoon, in the 21st Sussex, HG Battalion. It comprises of the annotated, Battalion photo, an HG armband and a pair of HG shoulder titles. The titles were not removed carefully, as the letter D, is missing, off one of them, as shown. The photo was annotated by the Platoon officer, as shown. This is a good, honest grouping.
227th Independent Infantry Brigade This is a 1940 pattern example, embroidered on wool. It does have a salty reverse, as shown. It clearly well-worn and tunic removed.

4th Anti- Aircraft Division Detention Letter This is an April 1942 dated, letter, sent from the HQ, of the 4th AA Division, to a soldier's parents. The letter outlines how the soldier was sentenced to 10 days detention and loss of pay, due to his behaviour. I have not photographed, the vet's name and address, at the bottom of the letter, out of respect, to the family. It is an interesting slice of Army History, not often encountered.

64th Regiment of Foot Knife and Spoon These 2 surfaced together. Both are unit stamped to the 64th Regiment of Foot ( North Staffordshire ) Both are clearly very well worn and in good, untouched condition. The knife measures 24 cm and the spoon 20 cm. Both are maker stamped, as shown.
6th Anti- Aircraft Division This is a 1940, second pattern example, screened onto canvas. This badge clearly is well worn and tunic removed. It does have a slightly sticky reverse, as a taped backing, was applied onto it, by its' previous collector.
76th Infantry Division This is a 1941 pattern example, embroidered on wool, measuring 48 by 48 mm. It is tunic removed, with some damage, to the top, left hand corner.
7th Army Group Royal Artillery This is a 1947 pattern example, woven on blue cotton. It is clearly tunic removed. It does have some damage, to the top, left hand side, as there is a 1 cm tear. It is priced accordingly.
7th Battalion (Robin Hoods) Foresters Regiment This is a well worn example, which clearly has never been touched. It is in good condition, as shown.
88 MM Gun Chassis Photo This is a 1941 annotated, Third Reich photo. It shows a 88mm, gun chassis, being unloaded, at a harbour. The ship in the background, has a highly amusing picture on the side of it's hull, of a man and woman riding a torpedo. The photo is small sized, measuring 7,5 by 5.5 cm.

A Bridge Too Far This is one that should be on every bookshelf ! It is a 1999, softback version. It is printed on high grade paper and has a larger range of photos, from the battle, than the 1974 version. It is in good condition, as shown.
ABC of the RAF This is an early war, hardback publication. This example has a badly damaged spine. The rest of the book is in very good condition and is priced accordingly.
Aeroplane Magazine This is an obscure aviation magazine publication, called 'Aeroplane'. It was a large format magazine, measuring 21 by 30 cm. This edition is September 17th 1919 dated. It has lost it's front cover, but is otherwise in good condition and worthy of a second look. The magazine is packed with photos and a totally, captivating read. The aviation adverts in this magazine are quite something. It is staple free and deserving of a good home !
Afrikakorps Feature This is a June 1941 dated edition, of JB magazine. It has features of the Afrikakorps, spread over 3 different pages. The magazine is in good condition, as shown.
AFS Cap Badge This is a good, wartime example. It is an issued example and shows good wear. It has lost one of it's lugs, which has broken off. It is priced accordingly.
Air Gunner\'s Brevet This is a well worn example, which certainly shows good wear. It has some minor, fraying to the wings area and a small blue tac stain, to the reverse, but otherwise is in good, untouched condition.

The feature on 'Black Light', is particularly interesting. The vet's family cut a section, off the front cover, at the top. It is otherwise in very good condition. It is large format size, measuring 36 by 27 cm and well worth the money !

Aircraft Carrier Cigarette Tin This is a 1960's/70's period example. The transfer and tin are in good condition, as shown. It measures 11 by 9 cm.

The belt can be made smaller, if altered. It would look highly impressive on a manikin display.

ARP First Aid Manual These manuals are very rarely encountered. They are undated but are highly likely to be pre-war publications. They are unique, large format size, measuring 21 by 26 cm in hardback. Bound in thick leather, they are packed throughout with illustrations. The front of the manual has a celluloid sleeve, for first aid items, such as bandages. These are missing from this manual. I have tried to include enough photos, to give a clear picture, of how impressive these manuals are. It is in very good condition and is staple free, being linen bound. I am really not expecting to see another one of these manuals for a very long time !

Boxed Micky Mouse Gas Mask This is an issued example, which surfaced recently directly out of a wartime family grouping of 4 gas masks. There is some minor distortion, to the cardboard, as other gas masks, had been stored on top on the Micky Mouse one. The gas mask is January 1940 dated, as shown, on the red rubber. There is some rusting, to the front of the cannister, as shown. The rubber is in good, supple condition, with no rips or damage. The gas mask is uncleaned and should clean up a treat. It is an attic find and has been stored for nearly 80 years.

It is packed with a simply, huge array of photos and cross sectional diagrams. The photo quality is very good as shown and the book measures 16 by 22cm. It has a minor split, to the front spine inside, but otherwise, is in mint condition. These books are nothing short of a visual treat !

It gives a comprehensive look into the development of British firearms, in this critical, period. The book is well illustrated with photos and a most engaging read. Apart from a few minor marks, to the front cover, it is in very good condition.
British Military Rifles 1800- 2000 This is a 2005 dated, softback publication. Written by Peter Duckers, it gives a concise overview, into the History of British Rifles. It is small format size, measuring just 15 by 21 cm. It is a handy, reference tool. It is in very good condition, as shown.

British Steel Helmet Liner This is an issued and well worn example. It is a 1939 dated, BMB, size 7 example. The liner tongues are all in good, supple condition, with no rips. The buffer crown pad is missing as shown. There are some splashes of green, Post war paint, but these are not visible, when the liner is placed in a helmet. The drawstring is a modern replacement. The external, rubber supports, are all present, on the outside of the liner.

British Women Go to War This is a rare opportunity, not to be missed ! This is a 1946 hardback publication, written by JB Priestly. The book is a fitting celebration, of the immense contribution made by British women in the war. Most branches of the women's services are featured, in the book. It measures 19 by 25 cm. It has a most unique collection of 49, colour photos, all of which, are rarely seen in other publications. The photo quality is exceptional, for the period. The book is in good condition and a very rare, colour, wartime visual treat !
Burma Campaign Book This is a 1946 dated, softback publication. It gives a concise account of the Burma campaign. It is packed with a very wide selection, of photos, from the campaign. The book has suffered some very bad water damage, at the top of the spine. The majority of the pages do turn easily. It is priced accordingly.
Button Set This is a small group of 4 buttons. Three are Royal Engineers and one is a CD button. The larger buttons measure 2.5 by 2.5 and the small one 1.5 by 1.5cm. All 4 buttons are tunic removed and all well worn. They are attached in the centre, with a wartime ring. The group surfaced from a vet's family and are on sale here, exactly, as found.
Cameronians Officer\'s Portrait This is a well-executed, studio portrait of a young, Camerionian's officer. The portrait measures 10 by 15 cm and the card background, 20 by 24 cm. It clearly has been framed, in the past. It is 1948 dated, on the reverse, in pencil.

Canadian Army Manual This is an April 1942 dated example. It was sourced recently, from Canada. It is large format size, measuring 15 by 25 cm. Canadian Army manuals differ enormously from British ones, in their direct, no nonsense style. They are engaging reads, as illustrated. This example has been issued and has been hole punched, as shown. There are 4 page illustrations of Japanese tanks, German hand grenades and 5 and 8 cm mortars. Printed on high grade paper, these manuals are well ahead of their time. This example is in mint condition, as clearly shown.
Canadian Army Manual This is a June 1942 dated example. These large format manuals were produced by the Canadian War Officer's courses. They were primarily concise feedback of intelligence reports on German and Japanese field operations. The manual has no illustrations or photos, but it provides for insightful reading, of how quickly intelligence of both German and Japanese operational practise was passed directly to officers. The manual is large, measuring 15 by 25 cm and is in very good condition, as shown.

Both turn easily, giving a good, sharp focus. They are completely untouched, as shown.

It is packed with very rare, colour photos of Home Front service personnel. The picture quality simply speaks for itself. The book measures 17 by 23 cm and is in good condition, with no rips or tears, to any of the pages. It is an opportunity, not to be missed !

Citizens in war and after This is a 1945 dated, hardback, colour publication, written by Stephen Spender. It measures 17 by 23 cm. The book has a huge array of very rare wartime, colour photos, which are quite remarkable, for the period. I have included sufficient photos, to illustrate the quality of the images in this book. There are 48 different colour photos, making this a full colour publication. All of the photos features show different members of the Home Front services. It is in very good condition and nothing short of .... a Home Front treasure !
Civil Defence Lapel Badge This is a well worn example, which shows considerable wear. It clearly are never been cleaned. The pin, on the reverse, does not open outwards, as the metal ring, appears to have been bent down. It is on sale here, exactly, as found.

It is printed on thick card and measures 20 by 28 cm. It is a good, honest example, not often encountered. This example surfaced, in a small grouping, of these certificates, which I was fortunate to acquire.

The book's covers are beginning to show their age. It is otherwise in very good condition. This publication is simply packed with a massive array of combat photos and it is a most engaging read. It is a real visual treat and comes with a most affordable price tag.

Colour Despatch Rider\'s Photo This is a good, wartime, colourised photo. It shows 2 despatch riders, proudly showing their war booty. The photo has surfaced some minor damage, with insect nips on the reverse, as shown. It is a good size, measuring 23 by 17 cm. The Allied truck in the background, shows that this photo was taken somewhere in France/Germany, judging from the terrain.
Colour Despatch Rider\'s Photo This is a remarkable, wartime image. Pictured are 2 despatch riders, proudly showing off their war booty, to the camera. The German motorcycle, is their obvious trophy, in addition, to their other pick ups. Both appear to have German issue, goggles, around their necks and one is wearing a Wehrmacht/SS belt, over his smock. The photo is black and white, but has been skilfully, colourised, by the photographer. It is a one photo, not to be missed ! It is large, measuring 23.5 by 17 cm.

There is an exclusive, 2 page feature, on how the Commandos were first formed in 1940. In addition, there is a very rare 2 page feature on a British Officer, who managed to take photos, during his time, as a POW. It is very large, format size, measuring 36 by 27 cm. Apart from some damage, to the front cover, the magazine is in good condition.

There is a 4 page photo feature on Italy, showing the opening phases of the Battle for Monte Cassino. The magazine is in very good condition. Of particular interest on the front cover, the soldier's Commando titles have been edited, by the censors, to obscure their units.

Commandos Publication This is a March 1950 dated, hardback publication, on The Royal Marine Commandos, written by Bruce Lockhart. The book gives gripping First hand accounts of Commando operations in the key theatres of operations, such as The Normandy Landings. It has some map illustrations and is in good condition. For anyone interested in Commando operations, this book is one not to miss !

Dam Busters Pilot\'s Autograph This is a 30th Anniversary Memorial Flight envelope from July 1987. It is autographed by Nick Ross, DSO, DFC Lancaster Pilot, who flew with 617 squadron. It is in good condition, as shown. The autograph is certified, on the reverse.
Dam Busters Composer Eric Coates Autograph This is an autographed piano score, from the Dam Busters film. The composer Eric Coates died in 1957, so this score was autographed, shortly after the film. It does have some recent damage, to the front, but this does not detract, from the quality of the autograph.

Dam Busters Movie Publicity Photo This is a 1954/55 period, publicity photo, taken for the 'Dam Busters' film in 1955. It shows 4 Lancasters, taxing on the runway, during the filming of the movie. The photo is a good size, measuring 25 by 20cm and is in very good condition. It's publicity code, for the film, is printed on the front and there is a studio, copyright stamp, on the reverse of the photo. There is a printing error on the photo, which can be seen above the Lancaster in the immediate foreground.

Field Marshall Earl Kitchener Cigarette Silk card This is a good, First World War period example. The silk is mounted on it's original card and measures 5 by 6.5 cm.
Field Marshall Wavell Magazine Feature This is a rare publication, called 'Parade' magazine. It is February 1941 dated. It is very large format size, measuring 41 by 28 cm and very salty. These magazines were printed on low grade paper and the majority of the pages are loose, on this edition. These many faults aside, the magazine remains a very rare publication. The front cover illustration, was taken from 'Time' magazine and republished for the Army. It is packed with photos, from the first phase of Wavell's victory over the Italian Forces, prior to the entry, in the same month, of Rommel's DAK, into North Africa.
Fife and Forfar Yeomanry Collars These are a perfectly, matching pair. They clearly have been well worn and show good wear.
Fire Brigade Police Parade Photo This is a good, Third Reich period example. It shows a very mixed group of Fire Brigade personnel , on a parade. The decals on the helmets are not crystal clear, but it is clearly evident that they are SS pattern examples. Of particular interest is the age of some of the troops. Some are clearly of 'Volksturm' age. The photo has one small crease, to the top left hand side . It is a decent size measuring 11 by 7.5 cm.
First Field Dressing This is an October 1938 dated example. The dressing was issued to a Post war vet, whose name is on the reverse. J R. Rogers has an Army service record, beginning, in 1946. Apart from the vet's name on the reverse, this is a very good example, which is priced accordingly.

The front page features fantastical, 70 ton German tanks. This is followed inside with reports of Nuns and pregnant mothers being machined gunned deliberately, by German fighters. The magazine is quite salty, with several rips to the pages.

It shows the interrogation of a German collaborator in France, who was responsible for the lethal poisoning of nine, US soldiers, who died as a result, at her cafe. Guernsey Blitz Photo This is a wartime photo, taken on June 28th 1940. It shows the trunks carrying tomatoes destroyed during , the Luftwaffe air raid, prior to the German invasion of the island. It is large sized, measuring 21 by 16 cm and in good condition, as shown. Its' previous collector did annotate the photo probably, in the 1970's.
Guernsey Occupation Postcard This postcard is a wartime photo, taken by the Guernsey photographer Norman Grut, during the Occupation. It is old and I assume that these postcards were sent Post war, probably in the late 40's and 50's. It is certainly, not a modern example. The faces on the crowd, in the background, are revealing. Not one onlooker is smiling at the band !

HMS Eagle Aircraft Carrier Christmas Card HMS Eagle was a Post war Aircraft Carrier, which entered service in 1951 and took part, in the Suez Crisis in 1956. The card is in good condition and is small sized, measuring 14 by 11 cm.
HMS Glory Aircraft Carrier Christmas Menu 1946 This is a 1946 dated, Christmas menu for naval ratings, serving on HMS Glory. The carrier was commissioned in April 1945 and went to the Far East, taking the surrender of Japanese Garrisons there. HMS Glory went onto serve in the Korean War. The menu measures 10 by 16 cm.

Home Guard Camo Helmet This helmet is new to the market, having surfaced from a vet's family. It is a reissued, Home Front example, as it still retains it's original, Civil Defence 'First Aid Post' logo, on the front, which can be seen , under the camo finish. It is clearly open to conjecture, but the camo finish would have been most likely to have been a Home Guard addition, as this is a Home Front issue helmet. The shell is 1941 dated as shown. The liner was manufactured by AG & Co and 1944 dated. The helmet is uncleaned as shown. I have only cleaned the liner date area, for illustration purposes here. The liner does have damage to it, with quite a few rips, as it is clearly showing it's age. It is a good, honest example, with a most interesting History. Postage is Medium Parcels size on helmet orders, set at £7.
Home Guard Certificate This is named to a Thomas Smith, who served the full period from May 1940 to December 1944. Smith was a First World War vet, who served with The Hampshire Regiment. His items can be viewed, on the First World War web page.

This example is very salty, with several rips, as clearly shown. Despite it's faults, it still remains an exceedingly rare item, to encounter. It measures 20 by 30 cm.

Jersey Wehrmacht Band Photo This is a good, wartime, Third Reich example. It was taken In Jersey and shows a Wehrmacht band playing to the public. In the background can be seen the 'Weighbridge Restaurant' sign. Weighbridge is in the North of St Helier, in the old harbour area. The photo is a good size, measuring 17 by 12 cm. It has some sepia toning, as shown, but otherwise is in very good condition. Members of the public, can be seen in the upstairs windows of the restaurant, listening to the band. It is an interesting moment of Channel Islands Occupation History.

Jersey Occupation Magazine Feature This is a July 1940 dated edition of the Third Reich magazine JB. It has a 2-page photo feature on the occupation of Jersey. The caption translates as 'English Island in German hands'. The article is clearly an understatement of German propaganda, as the Germans, no doubt, were expecting much bigger features to come, with the planned invasion of Britain. The magazine is salty, with a very large rip, to the front page, which is also loose. These faults are amply compensated for, by the additional features of the leading Luftwaffe fighter aces feature on Helmet Wick and Werner Molders. Lilliput Magazine This is a September 1940 dated edition of 'Lilliput' magazine. This particular edition is rarely encountered. Despite being small, measuring just 14 by 20 cm, these magazines were the cutting edge in journalism. It has some minor fraying, to the top cover, as shown, but otherwise is in near mint condition. It has the perfect balance of thought provoking articles, cartoons, pin up nudes and humorous photo comparisons. It is nothing short of a masterpiece of understatement, at the nation's finest hour.
London VE Day ATS Photo Grouping This is a wartime. photo grouping of 30 photos, that belonged to an ATS vet. There are 17 photos, taken on May 8th 1945, which shows various locations in London, during the VE day celebrations. All of the photos, were taken by the vet, as she is not pictured in any of the London photos. The other photos, show the ATS vet in uniform, with her Army boyfriend, in different locations. The other 13 photos are all wartime period and 2 are annotated, by the vet. All of the photos are decent sizes, measuring 9.5 by 7 cm. They surfaced in this 1940's/50's paper wallet. It is a good, honest grouping, which captures the atmosphere of this Historic day.

NFS Steel Helmet This is a 1939 dated example. The liner is a later, wartime replacement and is 1945 dated and a CCL example, size 7. It is very badly stained, but it is complete with it's original, wartime screw and nut and cruciform pad. The liner has damage, on the date area, as shown. Of particular interest on this NFS helmet, are the original, wartime fireman's station numbers, on the underside, of the helmet. The helmet has lost it's chin strap, at some stage. Despite, it's many faults, it remains an honest example and is priced accordingly.

RAF Hinaidi Iraq Farewell Dinner Menu This pair of RAF items surfaced from the same vet. RAF Hinaidi, was an RAF air base, close to Baghdad, in Iraq. The station was closed in 1937. The farewell dinner postcard is dated October 1934. The photo shows a military camp, by the Pyramids at Giza, in Egypt. Both are in good condition.

Robinson, is pictured, in the centre of with the aircrew of 7. The picture comes in it's original, cardboard frame and the photo measures 16 by 10 cm. The set are both in good condition, as clearly shown and are completely untouched.

There is some ageing, to the metal, on the ring binder, as shown. The pages are otherwise in mint condition. It is pocket sized and an unusual, Home Front manual, to encounter.
RAMC Group Photo For anyone interested in uniform detail, this photo should certainly tick many boxes ! It is a good size, measuring 16.5 by 21.5 cm. The majority of the soldiers rank and trade badges are clearly visible. The photo has just one small, 1cm rip, at the front, it is otherwise in very good condition.

Soldier Magazine- Victory in Europe Edition This is a May 1945 period edition of 'Soldier' magazine. They were produced for the British Army and are rarely encountered. The magazine is packed on every page with powerfully evocative, images and articles, which reported the end of the war in Europe. Only the back page, showed how the defeat of Japan, was the final step, in securing the end of the war. The magazine is large format size, measuring 26 by 36 cm. The vet's family did cut out a small section, at the front of the magazine, which had his name and address. The magazines' photo montages are particularly impressive, and every page is packed with a wide array of photos.

Each product , is Boots' labelled. All of the components are inside the packets. The bottle has lost it's medicine, at some stage. These kits are seldom encountered !

The witty cartoons, capture the flavour of Army humour on the Italian front. The book has 1 page which has been coloured in by a young chid and the back cover, has some writing on it. The caption on the front translates ' A small thanks from the Fuhrer, to his troops'. The box is clearly an issued example, judging from it's condition. It is small sized, measuring 18 by 12 by 5 cm. I have had this box verified, by leading collectors and it is a 100 % original, Third Reich example.

UC 5 Captured German Submarine Postcard UC5 was a very successful, German submarine, in the First World War, credited with 19 ships sunk. She was captured by the Royal Navy in 1916, when she ran aground. The photo, shows the submarine entering a British port, after her capture. USS Argonaut Submarine Photo USS Argonaut was launched in November 1927 and named V4. She was the largest submarine, built in the US naval, submarine programme. She was renamed Arognaut in 1931. She went on to see operational service at Pearl Harbour and was sunk by Japanese destroyers in January 1943. This photo was clearly taken prior to 1931. It is large sized, measuring 20 by 10 cm. It has some water damage, to the right hand corner, but otherwise is in good condition. The submarine is clearly marked as V4, as shown.
Victoria Cross Publication This is a 1945 dated, hardback publication entilted' The Bronze Cross'. The book focus is a comprehensive overview, of all of the wartime, VC winners. It has photos, or illustrations of every serviceman, who was awarded the VC. In addition, it has a brief introduction, with information on the 11 VC winners at Rorke's Drift and a section of winners in the First World War. The book is illustrated on every page with a photo, of each VC winner. Apart from some marks to the front cover, as shown, it is in good condition and measures 19 by 25 cm.

Zuckerman Steel Helmet This is a 1941 dated example. The liner is a size 7 and a quarter and 1941 dated. The helmet body is 1941 dated and in good, untouched condition.
